Welcome to the Nobuo Uematsu Grading System web page!
The Nobuo Uematsu Scale is an effective way to rate video games which is in no way biased. In addition, you can use it on many levels to get as accurate a score as you please. I will demonstrate how this system works with an example.

First you must examine the number of songs
the game has. If no song list is available, the game cannot be rated
as of yet. |
"Now how does it all work out?" you wonder? How would the number of good songs determine a game's worth? The answer is simple. When composing music for games, Nobuo Uematsu looks at the game content and it puts him in various moods. For example, if the game is great, Nobuo will create very lively and high quality music. On the other hand, Nobuo hating a game will cause him to enter a slump of music ability. His music will become lifeless and boring for the game. You can't really blame the guy, can you?
Here is an example of when things are going a little better for our favorite game musician.

Final Fantasy 9 Total Songs: 109 Good Songs: 42 Final Score: 38% |
Now that is a fine ratio of fine songs to total songs! You can tell Nobuo enjoyed his time making music for Final Fantasy IX. This is because he thought that Final Fantasy IX was a great game and deserved some equally great music.
Note: It does not work on games lacking Nobuo Uematsu music, except in one case: All games with "Final Fantasy" in the title actually can and should be judged on the Uematsu scale, even if he did not make the music. When a Final Fantasy game lacks his musical touch, the solution is simple.

Final Fantasy X-2 Total Songs: 60 Good Songs: 0 ('Good Song' only applies to Uematsu music) Rating: 0% The worst possible game. |
So, as you can see, any games containing "Final Fantasy" while lacking music by Nobuo Uematsu are terrible games, in fact they are so terrible that Final Fantasy VII seems like a great game compared to them.
