There are two people I wish to
celebrate this Mother's Day.
The first is my my own mother, of
course. There are few who have put up with me over all these years as
patiently as she has. I've had my problems, and I know it has not
always been easy for her, so there aren't enough thanks I can really
give her all at once. I hope someday that I can make it up to her for
being as supportive as she has been. I know I would crack under that
sort of pressure. I wish I could be home to give you an actual gift
of some sort, but in due time, I should be able to get you something
notable.
And now to Jo, my best friend. She
isn't my mother, but she is a mother nonetheless. She has done so
much for me other these years that I really don't know how to thank
her properly, either. I have written her character into my
literature, but that's hardly enough for her. She has gone through
such troubles, and yet she is always there to set me straight when I
am doing the wrong things. In addition, she occasionally draws Braya.
I take these to heart, because very few people have done so much for
me. Thanks, Jo. I hope someday I can see you and give you a real hug
we can only virtualize these days.
