I missed the voting for some reason. Here are some pathetic reasons why.
I've been seeing the "yes on prop 77!!" sort of stuff on the television. I've seen some of the "no on prop 75!" sort of signs out in the real world. But somehow I completely missed this session of voting. It's not that I didn't want to vote, I just was too busy with crap to really notice anything was happening. I think it's because I do a lot less driving around here. When I lived at home, I had to drive at least ten minutes to get anywhere interesting. 20-25 minutes if I wanted to get to school or work. This resulted in me seeing hundreds of the annoying signs being laid out on the road. But where I am now, the only memorable signs I have seen were only on school campus, and they were small and inconsequencial to me. It got me wondering if I really am so disconnected from the world, at least the world of politics. I've been pretty merrily ignorant of a lot of political nonsense since I lost access to my car stereo. I watch television news and stuff, but somehow it just isn't the same. The radio shows, conservative or liberal, really know how to energize me and get me paying attention, but television news seems kind of lacking in this regard. Probably because the only place I can watch any television is at home where I'm already using the computer like a well-behaved nerd. In the car, there is nothing but the radio. Yeah, I'm driving and stuff, but after 6 minutes, driving is an automatic process. The radio then takes up 80% of my brain's activity.
